Headers from William Saliba and Jurrien Timber, along with an own goal by Piero Hincapie, helped Arsenal secure a win that was less convincing than expected.
Chelsea, boosted by a red card to Pedro Neto, pushed hard in the last 20 minutes.
With key saves from David Raya and an offside call, Arsenal held on for the win.
They also matched the record for most corner goals in a Premier League season with 16, and could soon set a new record.
Brighton managed a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at home just over a year ago.
However, Arsenal have already beaten them twice at home this season, in both the EFL Cup and the league, and have not lost in their last five visits to Brighton since the 2020-21 season.
Brighton have been improving lately, but they still have defensive issues, with only one clean sheet in their last 10 games across all competitions. We think Arsenal will find a way to win.

Both Bournemouth and Brentford still have a shot at qualifying for Europe, so a win in Tuesday’s Premier League match at the Vitality Stadium could make a big difference.
