After being thrashed 3-0 by rivals Liverpool before the international break, Man United desperately needed to respond when they got the Premier League weekend underway early on Saturday.

That means Darrell Clarke’s side has dropped out of the League One playoff places for the time being, but they are still well-positioned after a respectable start.
