Torino Joins Inter Milan In Battle To Sign Maduka Okoye
According to Mondoudinese, Torino is interested in signing Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye who has been linked previously with Serie A champions Inter Milan.
The Turin-based side are preparing for the possible departure of Vanja Milinković-Savić who was once on the books of Manchester United and has identified Okoye as a possible replacement.
The 24-year-old returned to his brilliant best last season with Udinese, helping the Bianconeri maintain their Serie A status with a series of brilliant performances in goal.
He initially struggled to get into the side, having been an unused substitute in the first 16 games of the campaign, and was handed his debut against Bologna, keeping a clean sheet in the encounter.
The former Watford shot-stopper would go on to feature in 21 games in the Italian top flight, conceding 25 goals and keeping five clean sheets.
His performances have not gone unnoticed and he has been linked with Serie A giants Inter Milan who are looking for a goalkeeper to serve as an understudy to Yann Sommer and eventually replace him.
However, the latest report has it that Inter Milan are closing on an agreement with Genoa for Josep Martinez which might end their interest in the Nigeria international.
Okoye is said to be contemplating a move away from Udinese just after a season at the club.
Maduka Okoye made his Super Eagles debut on 13 October 2019, coming on as a substitute in a friendly match against Brazil that ended 1-1.
