Brest vs Marseille, France Ligue 1, Stade Francis-Le Ble, 20:45
Brest will try to keep their perfect home record in Ligue 1 this month when they host Marseille at Stade Francis-Le Ble on Friday.
Brest sit 12th in the table after a 1-1 draw with Lille last weekend. Marseille, meanwhile, finished 2-2 at home against Strasbourg.
Stade Brestois have won their last four home games in Ligue 1 when they scored more than one goal, and they have not lost at home in those situations all season.
If Brest wins or draws on Friday, they will extend their unbeaten run in the league to four matches, matching their longest streak without a loss this season.
Brest, known as Les Pirates, have earned points in two of their last three home games against Marseille in Ligue 1. Their most recent home win over Marseille was a 1-0 victory in February 2024.
Marseille, or Les Olympiens, have not won their last two away games in Ligue 1 and have conceded 7 goals in that time. That is as many goals as they allowed in their previous seven away matches combined.
Although these teams are heading in different directions, we think Marseille’s strong attack will cause problems for Brest’s inconsistent defence this weekend. We predict there will be more than 1.5 goals in the match.

Crystal Palace hope to continue their first European campaign when they travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina to play Zrinjski Mostar in the first leg of their Conference League playoff on Thursday evening.
Bijeli Brijeg Stadium will host the first meeting between these clubs. Both teams want to improve their chances of reaching the last 16 before heading to Selhurst Park for the second leg next week.
Crystal Palace remain the bookmakers’ favourites to win the Conference League and could become the third English club, after West Ham (2023) and Chelsea (2025), to lift the trophy, even though they did not finish in the top eight during the League Phase.
The Eagles recorded three wins, two draws, and one loss in six games, finishing 10th out of 36 teams after a 2-2 home draw with KuPS in their last match on December 18.
Palace will bPalace are confident they can get a good result in Bosnia, as they have won two of their three European away games this season (L1) and have also earned more points away than at home in the Premier League (20 away, 12 at home).

Qarabag FK and Newcastle United are both making their first appearance at this stage of the Champions League. They will meet at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium on Wednesday for the first leg of their knockout playoff.
Newcastle have not won three of their four away games in Europe this season. They will be hoping for a strong performance and a good result in Baku, aiming to end Qarabag’s impressive run and bring an advantage back to St James’ Park for the second leg next week.
Qarabag had never won a match in this competition until their comeback 3-2 victory over Benfica in September. Since then, they have also beaten Copenhagen and Eintracht Frankfurt on matchdays two and seven.
Even though they lost 6-0 to Liverpool in their last group match, Gurban Gurbanov’s team made history as the first Azerbaijani side to reach this stage. Now, they hope to go even further.
However, history is not on Qarabag’s side. They have lost seven out of eight games against English teams in Europe and drawn the other, as they prepare to host Newcastle in Baku.
Qarabag have scored at least two goals in each of their European home games and should feel confident facing a Newcastle side that has not kept a clean sheet in seven matches. We predict there will be over 1.5 goals.
