Brighton & Hove Albion look to continue their strong start to the season as they head to Czechia to play FK Baumit Jablonec in the Conference League on Thursday night.
The match at Stadion Strelnice brings together two teams with different starts to the group. The Seagulls took all three points against FK Kauno Zalgiris, while the Green-Whites lost to Freiburg.
Brighton have been improving under head coach Fabian Hurzeler and are off to their best-ever Premier League start, with 16 points and a league-high 23 goals in their first seven games.
Brighton are already at the top of the 36-team League Phase standings after just one game, thanks to a strong 4-0 home win over FK Kauno Zalgiris last week.
The Seagulls have now scored at least three goals in eight matches across all competitions this season.
Brighton are hoping to win four away games in a row for the first time since April 2016.
They have won six of their last seven European matches (L1), keeping a clean sheet in each win. Their only loss in this run was a 4-0 defeat to Roma in the 2023-24 Europa League.
FK Baumit Jablonec are back in the Conference League for the first time since 2021-22. They fought hard but lost 3-2 away to last season’s Europa League finalists Freiburg in their first group game last week.
Jablonec have won just two of their last six games in all competitions (D1 L3) and most recently lost 3-2 at home to Viktoria Plzen last Sunday.
The Green-Whites will be glad to return to Stadion Strelnice on Thursday. They won all three home Conference League qualifiers without conceding earlier this year and are unbeaten in their last seven European home games (W5 D2).
After a strong showing in Freiburg, Jablonec should not be underestimated against Brighton. Still, the Seagulls are expected to be favourites as they start a run of five straight away games in all competitions over the next 16 days.
