Malmo looks like a vastly improved team this season and they can cement their position at the top of the Allsvenskan standings with a routine home success over Mjallby, who are likely to be dragged a little closer to the relegation scrap.
Confidence is flowing for Malmo, who have won their last three games while scoring 11 goals in the process.
Malmo’s 11-goal top scorer, Isaac Thelin, returned from a two-game layoff with two goals in last Saturday’s 3-0 success at home to Sirius and he possesses an obvious threat to Mjallby, who usually rely on a stout defence.
The leaders will be aiming for a 12th victory in 14 league games and should eventually find a way past their opponents, who pride themselves on punching above their weight.
Consistent Mjallby have posted top-nine finishes in each of the last three seasons and their hopes for another solid season rest largely on keeping as many clean sheets as possible.
Mjallby has conceded more than two goals just once in 13 league games this season, but they often struggle in front of goal.
Anders Torstensson’s side have failed to notch in seven of their last ten league fixtures and they are likely to suffer a low-scoring loss this weekend. Our prediction is a home win for Malmo.
