Heerenveen have not won at Philips Stadion since February 2009. On Saturday, they visit league leaders PSV Eindhoven for gameweek 24, hoping to hand the top team a second straight defeat.
PSV came unstuck away to FC Volendam last time out, ending their almost year-long winning streak on their travels, and Peter Bosz’s team seek a response against this week’s visiting side from Friesland.
After losing to Go Ahead Eagles in March 2025, Bosz’s team won six straight away games to finish last season as champions. PSV then added 11 more away wins, building a strong 14-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie.
But Volendam changed the script in their last match at Kras Stadion, where three goals were scored in an exciting second half. Dennis Man equalised for PSV, while Robin van Cruijsen and Aurelio Oehlers found the net for 14th-placed Volendam.
Even though Heerenveen have struggled to keep clean sheets, they have scored seven goals in their last two games, beating Go Ahead Eagles 3-1 and PEC Zwolle 4-2. This shows their attacking strength.
Even with the expectation of further attacking changes, PSV still have sufficient firepower to continue their run of scoring 2 or more goals in home games in the top flight since September, and we predict over 2.5 goals.

Brest sit 12th in the table after a 1-1 draw with Lille last weekend. Marseille, meanwhile, finished 2-2 at home against Strasbourg.
Stade Brestois have won their last four home games in Ligue 1 when they scored more than one goal, and they have not lost at home in those situations all season.
If Brest wins or draws on Friday, they will extend their unbeaten run in the league to four matches, matching their longest streak without a loss this season.
Brest, known as Les Pirates, have earned points in two of their last three home games against Marseille in Ligue 1. Their most recent home win over Marseille was a 1-0 victory in February 2024.
Marseille, or Les Olympiens, have not won their last two away games in Ligue 1 and have conceded 7 goals in that time. That is as many goals as they allowed in their previous seven away matches combined.
Although these teams are heading in different directions, we think Marseille’s strong attack will cause problems for Brest’s inconsistent defence this weekend. We predict there will be more than 1.5 goals in the match.
