Second-placed Coventry City will host Championship leaders Middlesbrough at the CBS Arena on Monday night in a match between the top two teams.
Frank Lampard’s team drew with Oxford United in their last match, making it three games without a win. Meanwhile, Boro’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United put them at the top of the table for the first time since October.
Since his appointment in November 2024, Lampard has had a strong run as Coventry City manager, winning 50.7% of his 67 games in charge.
This season, the Sky Blues have made a strong push for promotion and have spent more time at the top of the table than any other team.
But Coventry’s last three games, with two losses and a draw, have hurt their title hopes. Monday’s opponents have now passed them in the standings for the first time in almost four months.
Since December, Coventry have averaged only one goal per game in 13 league matches. This is a significant drop from the 50 goals they scored in the previous 18 games, when they averaged 2.8 goals per match.
